The UA School of Law will play host to the Alabama Supreme Court as it hears oral arguments in two important cases on Thursday, February 8; all students are encouraged to attend. Below is some basic information on the cases to be argued--more extensive material is available at the library's reserve desk.
9:40 AM: Ex Parte Monsanto Co. (A mandamus action in a consolidated set of toxic tort cases that seeks to compel a trial court ruling for the defendant on critical pretrial motions)
10:40 AM: Break
11 AM: Ex Parte Apicella (An appeal of a capital murder conviction and death sentence stemming from the deaths of five people during an apparent burglary; Read lower court opinions via Westlaw [requires password])
